On 2013, the project Binomios Creativos (Creative Pairings) was created. In it, six rural communities from Oaxaca started working with six young industrial designers from different parts of Mexico. Six teams were formed, and they worked together for a year, creating new craft products with the methodology of industrial design.

The chosen communities were living in Oaxaca de Juárez, Teotitlan del Valle, Santa Cecilia Jalietza, San Marcos Tlapazola y San Bartolo Coyotepec.
